Clear aligner held up in a dental clinic

Orthodontics

Discreet, removable aligners that straighten teeth gradually — with your end result previewed before you start.

Overview

What this treatment involves

Invisalign moves teeth with a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners, each worn for about a week. Your entire treatment is planned digitally first — so you see a simulation of your final smile before committing, and know roughly how long it will take.

Benefits for you

  • Nearly invisible in everyday life
  • Removable for eating, brushing and important moments
  • 3D preview of your projected result before you commit
  • Fewer and shorter appointments than fixed braces

Who this treatment suits

Adults and teenagers with crowded, spaced or rotated teeth. A consultation confirms whether your case suits aligners.

Please note: Treatment suitability must be confirmed by a qualified dentist at an in-person clinical assessment. This website is for general information only and does not replace professional dental advice. Treatment suitability can only be confirmed after an in-person clinical assessment, and results vary between patients.

Step by Step

How your treatment unfolds

Treatment process

  1. 01

    Suitability consultation

A digital scan and bite assessment confirm aligners can achieve what you want.

  2. 02

    Your 3D treatment plan

We review your projected tooth movements and final result together on screen.

  3. 03

    Wear and progress

Aligners are worn 20–22 hours a day, changed weekly, with reviews every 6–8 weeks.

  4. 04

    Refine and retain

Finishing touches if needed, then retainers to protect your new alignment for the long term.

Expected timeline: Minor corrections can complete in around 6 months; typical comprehensive cases run 12–18 months.

Recovery & aftercare

  • Wear your retainers as advised — teeth drift back without them.
  • Clean aligners daily and remove them for anything other than water.
  • Follow the written aftercare guidance we send home with you.
  • Contact the clinic promptly if you notice unexpected pain, swelling or sensitivity.
  • Keep your scheduled review appointments so we can monitor healing.

Risks & considerations

  • Success depends on wearing aligners 20–22 hours daily — compliance is essential.
  • Some complex bite issues are better treated with fixed braces; we will tell you if so.
  • All dental treatment carries some degree of risk, which your dentist will explain before you consent.
  • Temporary sensitivity or tenderness is common after many procedures.
  • Suitability must be confirmed at an in-person clinical assessment.

Questions

Invisalign Clear Aligners FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Invisalign Clear Aligners

Absolutely — most of our aligner patients are adults. Age is rarely a barrier; gum health and case complexity matter far more.

Expect a feeling of pressure for a day or two when you change aligners. Most patients describe it as awareness rather than pain.

Most people will not. The aligners are thin, clear and sit closely against your teeth.
